The order of Picornavirales contains viruses which have a positive-sensed, single stranded RNA genome with only one open reading frame which encodes a polyprotein. The RNA-dependent RNA polymerases, capsid proteins and helicases of the members have similar structures.

The following families of plant viruses are included:
