Phytophthora ×multiformis (Brasier & S.A. Kirk) Husson, Ioos & Aguayo 2015

This oomycete has been found in Europe, infecting alder trees (Alnus). It is less aggressive than Phytophthora alni. DNA studies have indicated that it is a allotetraploid hybrid of two unknown Phytophthora species (Husson et al. 2015).
