Physalis alkekengii (weed) L. - (strawberry groundcherry, Chinese lantern)

This species of groundcherry is found in the Mediterranean region and warmer parts of Asia. It is sometimes grown as an ornamental because of its bright orange lanterns. However, it spreads quickly and can become a weed in gardens or crops.
