Phyllocoptruta Keifer, 1938

This genus contains around 30 species of eriophyid mites. Several are important agronomic pests like the citrus rust mite, Phyllocoptruta oleivora. Other species attack bananas, rubber and pineapple. The genus is characterized, among others, by the ophisthosoma having a wide middorsal, longitudinal furrow.
