Phelipanche ramosa (weed) L. - (branched broomrape)

The parasitic weed is widely distributed in temperate and subtropical regions. It attacks a large variety of crops (e.g. oilseed rape or tobacco) and can cause yield losses of more than 50%. In addition, many weed species can be infested and then serve as a reservoir of the parasite.
