Paecilomyces variotii (beneficial) Bainier 1907
This fungus has been found in various environments. It is known as a widespread and common mold and has been also reported to cause infections in humans. This page covers its aspects as a biological control agent against insect pests, plant parasitic nematodes and as an antagonist against plant diseases.
The species resembles a Penicillium species. However, it produces yellowish-brown colonies. The conidia are elongated, around 6 x 3 µm.
