Abstract: The article summarizes the results of a workshop on Ambrosia artemisiifolia, held in Braunschweig, Germany on 28. Nov. 2006 and attended by 30 participants from Germany and Switzerland. The conclusions of the workshop were:
1. Ambrosia artemisiifolia can create serious health risks and is an important agricultural weed. Further spread of the weed should be prevented, but measures against the spread of the weed will only be effective now, while the distribution of the weed is still expanding.
2. Research priorities are in the fields of biology/ecology, factors influencing its spread, and medical research on allergies against its pollen.
3. Collaboration between various groups, like medical personnel, people involved in road constructions and maintenance, etc. will be important.
