Kyllinga (weeds) Rottb. - (spikesedges)

This genus of sedges contains around 70 species which are mostly found in tropical and subtropical regions. Several of them are regarded as weeds in turf or lawns or in agricultural crops. These include, for example, Kyllinga brevifolia and K. gracillima. The plants might reach a height of up to 1 m. Some species have rhizomes, others not.
