Abstract: We examined the alteration induced by O3 on 2 poplar clones (sensitive and resistant) suitability for attacks by the leaf beetle Melasoma populi L. (Coleoptera Chrysomelidae). Choice test and no-choice test were performed with 2nd instar larvae to study the effect of metabolic changes, induced by O3 in the plant, on feeding preference, growth and food utilization of the beetle. The results suggested that the O3 alters the relationship between M. populi and poplar and further investigations are required.
