Hydrellia Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830
This genus of shore flies is widely distributed and contains more than 200 species. They are stem and leaf miners of plants growing in swamps and marshes, including rice, and several are important rice pests. Others are useful biological control agents of aquatic weeds, see Hydrellia (weed bioagents) for that group.
