Homalodisca Stål, 1869
This genus of leafhoppers contains around 20 species, including Homalodisca vitripennis, the important vector of Xylella fastidiosa. The species are native to America, but H. vitripennis has been accidentally introduced into French Polynesia. The adults are up to 15 mm long with a strongly extended head and in side view a raised scutellum, giving them a characteristic shape.
