Venturia oleaginea (Castagne) Rossman & Crous 2015 - (peacock eye-spot disease of olive)

This fungus infects olives in the Mediterranean region and Australia. The circular lesions with concentric rings resemble the eye-spots of peacock feathers. They reach a diameter of up to 1 cm. Infections cause leaf drop up to defoliation, poor growth and dieback. Yield losses of up to 20% have been estimated.
