Fijivirus (genus)

The genus includes viruses resembling the Fiji disease virus. These cause several important diseases on cereals like rice or maize. Fijiviruses are propagatively transmitted by delphacid planthoppers.

The particles are icosahedral, about 65-70 nm in diameter with a double capsid structure. The genome consists of 10 double stranded RNA segments.
