Coccinella novemnotata (predator) Herbst - (ninespotted lady beetle)

The lady beetle is a native predator of aphids and other insect pests of field crops in North America. It used to be common but populations have declined since around 1990, possible due to the introduction of exotic ladybird beetles like Coccinella septempunctata.
