Carrot virus Y (CtVY)

The virus causes foliar and root diseases on carrot in Australia. The symptoms are chlorotic mottle, marginal necrosis or reddening and generalized chlorosis and 'feathery appearance' of leaves, as well as mild plant stunting. The roots from plants infected early are stubby showing severe distortion and knobbiness.
