Atta vollenweideri Forel, 1893
The leaf-cutting ant is found in the southern parts of South America and feeds mainly on grasses, affecting cattle ranches. It may build very large nests. In Argentina, the economic threshold has be determined at 1 nest per 3 hectares (Guillade and Folgarait, 2015).
