Agrostis stolonifera (weed) L. - (creeping bentgrass)
Creeping bentgrass is widely grown in temperate regions, e.g. in golf courses, because it grows aggressively and can tolerate low mowing or cold conditions. However, can also form undesirable weedy patches in lawns growing other types of grasses like Poa annua. These patches establish themselves when A. stolonifera spreads by stolons.
