Acute bee paralysis virus (ABPV)

The virus is the type species of the genus Aparavirus (family Dicistroviridae). It is closely related to the Israeli acute paralysis virus. Like that virus, it causes paralysis, trembling, and rapid death of workers within 1–2 days. It can contribute to colony collapse in combination with other stress factors like infestation by varroa mites.
