Tombusviridae

The viruses in this family are related to the Tomato bushy stunt virus. They have non-enveloped, spherical (icosahedral) particles, around 30 nm in diameter. The single-stranded positive-sensed RNA genome is monopartite in most genera and around 4-5 kb long. It has 5 open reading frames, some of which are expressed from subgenomic RNAs. The transmission occurs through soil or water.
