Sordariomycetidae

This subclass of ascomycete fungi is mainly defined by the molecular structure of its members. It is used here to assemble genera of Sordariomycetes which have not yet been definitely assigned to orders. This collection of genera contains important plant pathogens, like Pyricularia, which includes the rice blast fungus (Pyricularia oryzae).
