Piperaceae - pepper family (weeds)
This family contains more than 3,000 species of plants which grow mainly in the tropics and subtropics as herbs, vines, shrubs or small trees. They have many small flowers arranged in spikes without sepals or petals. Several are grown as spices (e.g. black pepper) or for medicinal purposes. Some are important weeds.
