Gibberella moniliformis Wineland (teleomorph)
Fusarium verticillioides (Sacc.) Nirenberg (anamorph)
causes sorghum grain mould, Fusarium sheath rot on rice, damping off in pearl millet and ear rot on maize. If produces fumonisin mycotoxins which can contaminate harvested grain.
Banana isolates are now considered to belong to Gibberella musae/Fusarium musae.
