Sternorrhyncha (aphids, scale insects, mealybugs, psyllids and whiteflies) includes plantsucking bugs where the rostrum appears to originate from the sternum. The antennae are well developed and gradually decreasing in width towards their ends. The tarsi have 1 or 2 segments. They often form colonies on plants and are not very mobile. In the superfamily Coccoidea only the males have (one pair of) wings.
