Noctuoidea (Lymantriidae, Notodontidae, ...) are medium to large moths with thick abdomens and wings which rest in a roof-like position. The superfamily includes the Lymantriidae (tussock moths), Noctuidae (owlet moths), Notodontidae (prominents) and Arctiidae (tiger moths).
