Cicadomorpha (leafhoppers and relatives) are part of the group Auchenorrhyncha (together with the Fulgoromorpha) and include families of insects where the antennae are inserted between the eyes. (The Auchenorrhyncha can be distinguished from the Sternorrhyncha by the rostrum clearly originating from the head and the antenna being short with a terminal arista.) The group Cicadomorpha includes the families Cicadellidae (leafhoppers), Cercopidae (froghoppers), Membracidae (treehoppers) and others.
