Atheliales

This is a small order of mushrooms, containing around 100 species. The most important plant pathogens are the species belonging to the genus Sclerotium (teleomorph: Athelia), including Sclerotium rolfsii which is widespread and infects many crops. The teleomorph species form smooth and flat fruiting bodies.
